http://www.ksbw.com/news/salinas-murder-suspect-released-from-jail-by-mistake/29721386

A Salinas murder suspect accused of gunning down a man on Towt Street was mistakenly released from Monterey County Jail on Thursday night.

Antonio Miranda Martinez, 47, was erroneously freed by corrections officers at 6:45 p.m., Sheriff's Cmdr. John Thornburg said.

As of 12:30 p.m. Friday, Martinez was still at-large and a manhunt was underway. The Monterey County Jail is located in Salinas.

Martinez's murder trial was slated to begin on Monday.
