wanted to get to for a while. I'm sort of drawn to the more forbidding-sounding place-names, and luckily we have a lot of 'Lonely' this and 'Desolation' that...

I went to Sequoia but spent most time in the trees and in a few caves. This shows another side of this gorgeous place.

foothills to the rock and ice on the crest - something for everyone, in every season...
