I have lived in Newcastle for about 2yr now. I came from the Bay Area and north Coastal California.
Everything I hear about Tom McClintock is extreme and not in keeping with the State of California. The man has a 93% rating from the John Birch Society on their freedom index. I know that the JBS is not as big as it used to be but we really don't need this at all.
I don't think he is as corrupt as the man he took office from, John Doolittle but he still stinks. I mean the man doesn't even live in the district. he lives in Elk Grove. He has probably ran for more offices on California, than anyone I know. I mean he is a real carpetbagger who found himself with a big time gerrymandered district.
The district contains several Parks including Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia, I really don't want to hear again, in the future, what he wants to do to those areas with no one coverage by Government, cept him.
And it looks like he has an opponent up here in Auburn. The only problem is that he is a somewhat cleaner RePUG than Mr. Tom.
Hopefully someday I will realize why it appears that the Democratic Party up this way, don't really care. I do.

It's a red district, Dems care, we are just outnumbered.
It could be worse... and was....
2 years ago my Rep was Eric Cantor!
Tom is just stupid and greedy...Cantor is dangerous.

(3,425 posts)I once looked him up in the web site Open Secrets and found that his paid thousands of dollars in office expenses to a LLC firm called Political Dynamics. The only info I could find on this company was that Igor Birman, his chief of staff was the agent for this LLC company. Now that Igor is running against Bera in the third district, this expense is no longer listed in his office expenses. I have always wondered what this was all about.
Unfortunately, we do not seem to have a democrat running against him.

I did vote for a Rep side once for Pete McClosky in San Mateo County. That man was to the left of everybody else both Demo and Rep. He was an excellent and I think his military background helped to make him what he is. Perhaps Mr. Moore putting time into Annapolis and the military, might be the same.
I do wish the Democratic side would realize that if you don't fight, you might just put your lunch money out and perhaps you won't beat again.
