What is the deadline for signing up for health Insurance on the exchange in California?

1. Assuming you want your Insurance to start as early as possible (Jan 1)...

But Californians will have a little longer to enroll in health plans for insurance coverage starting Jan. 1. The board voted to move the deadline for individuals to enroll in health plans from Dec. 15 to Dec. 23. The deadline for payments was extended from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5.

3. The deadline is sometime in March. Then the open enrollment period closes.

Obviously if you sign up in March you aren't covered in Jan or Feb

4. I've been trying to get thru

to them on the phone for a week and they are always at maximum call capacity. One time I sat on hold for 40 minutes and I had to give up. I enrolled early Nov. and still haven't received anything re my plan in the mail. They told me to call if I hadn't heard anything by Nov. 15. I'm getting nervous because my current plan is set to cancel on Dec 31st. Good luck!

5. Try calling an agent and they'll tell you that

no one has received back the paper from the IRS that allows the insurance to go forward so you can make payment.

So don't worry everyone is in the same boat but keep checking.

I figured as much. Also, my boyfriend enrolled, and he got something in the mail telling him to go ahead and pick a plan. He already has! They must really be lagging with things...
