Related: About this forumFriday, June 7 Santa Monica - President Obama, Stop Keystone XL
President Obama is nearing a decision on the game over for the climate Keystone XL tar-sands pipeline. So we need to be putting constant pressure on him to make sure he knows that Americans oppose this project, and he needs to reject it.
On Friday in Santa Monica there's a crucial opportunity to help deliver the message.
The president will be attending a big fundraiser in Santa Monica. We need a big crowd of activists there to greet him with a strong message: Stop the Keystone XL pipeline! Can you be there to help deliver the message?
What: Santa Monica protest against Keystone XL
When and where: Meet at the corner of 26th Street and San Vicente Boulevard at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 7
Click here to RSVP for Friday's protest.
At CREDO, were doing everything in our power to make sure President Obama takes climate change seriously in his second term, starting by rejecting the Keystone XL pipeline.
Weve already submitted hundreds of thousands of public comments and made thousands of phone calls. And more than 60,000 people throughout the country have signed CREDO's pledge to commit civil disobedience if President Obama moves forward with the pipeline.
Right now, we're protesting the tar sands pipeline everywhere President Obama goes. In recent weeks, CREDO activists have protested outside President Obama's events in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Baltimore, Columbus, Austin and Asbury Park to make sure he knows that people across the country are opposed to Keystone XL.
The next protest is on Friday in Santa Monica. I hope you can be there to help send a strong message to President Obama: Reject the Keystone XL pipeline.

Activists from the Sierra Club, Sierra Club Angeles Chapter, 350.org, Tar Sands Action Southern California, CREDO, the Center for Biological Diversity, Burbank Green Alliance, and Wilder Utopia have pledged their presence.
Says Orange County organizer Jack Eidt of Tar Sand Action SoCal of the 11 a.m. protest:
We will ask him not to betray our children with a broken promise of climate leadership. And we will call on him to reject the Keystone.
