Rep. Anna Eshoo not running for re-election

She represents CA-16, and has been my representative for 16 terms. She's quiet, but responsive to her constituents - I always get a reply from her office within a week of emailing her, and she sends out a weekly newsletter about current doings in Congress. She's also helped several of her constituents that I know iron out problems with mortgage lenders and the IRS.

Bad timing - there are only 3 more weeks to file the paperwork to get on the March primary ballot.

I saw the announcement on the KTVU evening news - all the print sites I've checked have paywalls
