I appreciate the experience that longevity in Congress brings on one hand, but really hard to speak to my son and his generation about why Dems are better when we have this gerontocracy thing going on that gives them serious pause. (Thankfully the Repubs have similar issues given Moscow Mitch, Lady G and so on). If we were black it would be even harder given its almost exclusively a white gerontocracy. And I wonder where the next leaders are? Thank god for Kamala and Pete and others but need more in the best and brightest category.
