Related: About this forumIs it true that CA has ONLY ALL MAIL voting?
A friend there said so, after I posted a suggestion from a postal worker:
'Don't mail ballots in. Drop at board of elections or polling site. This is an inside tip from a postal worker. "Can't say any more than that."

(6,139 posts)have been mail-in voting for years but never felt comfortable dropping off my ballot to mail box. I would think CA will increase the number of locations with ballot boxes.

(149,681 posts)WHAT IS TRUE: Every registered voter in CA will receive a vote by mail ballot. They don't have to mail it in, or use it. They can vote in person just as we always have. OR they can fill it out per the regulations and drop it in the ballot boxes in any polling place.
They can also mail them in, using the USPS.
There are many options.

(4,251 posts)We always voted in person, but definitely not this year due to covid. The risks are too great for us old folks. Just heard the Bunker Boy say that everyone needs to risk their life and vote in person. Well I get the feeling that he would like me to die.

(484 posts)Havent received any ballots. Were on permanent absentee balloting and weve never received our ballots 2 1/2 months early before.
Is your county having a run-off election or something? Just want to be sure our ballots get to us timely.
Checked with SOS website and it says Orange County doesnt have any ballots being sent at this time.

(484 posts)Guess I misunderstood. It worried me a bit that this whole PO mess might have delayed our ballots. Thx for talking me down.

(10,146 posts)See the Secretary of State's election website for a timeline. Counties normally start sending out ballots about 30 days prior to an election, not 2 1/2 months.
