GOP plan is clear:
- Appeal to racists and turn white identity politics up to 11 (done)
- build a propaganda media machine so 35% of Americans, mostly in red states, don’t know the truth about the country (done)
- pack courts with unqualified rightwing partisans (ongoing)
- use Senate anti-majoritarian structure to keep control of Senate (after stealing Senate in 2016 at the same time they stole the presidency: voter suppression, Cohen cheating, and Putin cheating helped senate races as well as Trump.)
- gerrymander
- cheat via voter suppression (ongoing)
They don’t care about CA and the House. GOP goal is to destroy government to enrich rightwing billionaires. They don’t need the House to do that; they can control enough states and the Senate to do it. And they used their brief control of both houses and Presidency to pass a massive tax cut for billionaires and roll back regulatory protections.
There are things Dems can do to fight back. But we have to think big. We cannot win via negotiation with an anti-American GOP who exists only to enrich billionaires and uses lies and cheating to do it.
