Now is the time California!

Let's look at health insurance from a private business and public employer standpoint.

The cost of health insurance to these employers (public and private) is staggering. And in the case of the public employer, these costs are paid by us taxpayers.
Suppose we could relieve these employers of this burden by cutting costs way down. Think of the attraction California would be for businesses thinking of relocating here knowing they can escape crippling health insurance costs. Think of the freed up cost savings that could go to negotiating and offering higher pay for the employees as another incentive.

I firmly believe that a public insurance system, relieving businesses in California, would lead the way to an economic growth period that would be expansive and beneficial for our state. And the data backs up that belief.

Well there is a way.
California SB-562.
Now is the time to remove the profiteers from insurance delivery.
Now is the time to make health insurance accountable to democracy.
Now is the time for a public insurance system in California.

I went to the linked website, and poked around. I wanted to see the actual legislation, but it is just a very generic 5-point list that says the state will set up a universal care system.

Is there anything that discusses how this will be funded, what is covered, how claims will be administered, etc.?

It will probably take a successful state model to begin the process of establishing a true universal healthcare system on a national level. If a state of 40 million population could make it work, then it's full steam ahead. The devil is always in the details, though.

As we all saw with the rollout of the ACA, there can't be problems in the implementation (especially for such a huge state) or the screams/howls will be endless to the point that it will crush any future hope of a national system for decades.
