Oakland: Police arrest four after Christmas Eve shooting

OAKLAND — Police are continuing their investigation after four arrests Sunday in a weekend shooting incident, authorities said.

At 2:43 p.m. Saturday, dispatchers learned of reports of gunfire in the 6100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Oakland police Officer Wesley Huynh said.

Berkeley police pitched in with a block search nearby around 3:30 p.m., Berkeley police Lt. Alyson Hart said Sunday.

Oakland police were able to develop information that led to the arrest of four suspects later Saturday on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, and found that one of the suspects had suffered a graze wound to his left elbow, Huynh said.

Do you think the cops would have responded as quickly if it occurred elsewhere?
