Who will replace Kyl?

Thought I would try returning to an afternoon nap/meditation Monday. Unfortunately my inner clock is out of sync and I am up early reading a diary on dkos about the Arizona Senate race.

Gov. Ducey could replace Kyl with McCain or McSally. These are the two most discussed but Ducey may have his own sycophant in waiting. We will know soon enough.

If you care to read the entire diary on dkos, the link is below.

The author includes a link to an old Arizona Republic article with local sourcing.

Gov. Doug Ducey expected to move quickly on appointing a John McCain replacement

Other possible candidates include:
Eileen Klein, the former president of the Arizona Board of Regents whom Ducey appointed as state treasurer in April.
Kirk Adams, Ducey's chief of staff who runs the governor's day-to-day operations.
Barbara Barrett, a business executive and the first Republican woman to run for governor in Arizona.
Michael Bidwill, the president of the Arizona Cardinals and longtime Ducey ally who went to prep school with Judge Brett Kavanaugh, Trump's Supreme Court nominee.
Jon Kyl, a former three-term senator and mentor to Ducey. (fait accompli*)
Former congressmen John Shadegg and Matt Salmon

AZ law requires the Gov. to name the replacement. It has to be a Republican and they serve until the 2020 election.

Friend of the Mccain family and a centrist.

Ducey is not a far right guy, I really can't see him appointing mcsally.
