Gordo's chimichangas again available Tucson

The chimichangas served at the now-closed Gordo’s Mexicateria, are available again in the Tucson area.

Julie Valenzuela, widow of Gordo’s former owner Al, and their daughter Marguerite offer the Mexican staple at two local farmers’ markets - the Heirloom Market in Oro Valley on Saturdays and Rillito Racetrack Market on Sundays.

Gordo’s 2.0 offers three types - shredded beef, refried beans and cheese, and shredded chicken.

They also offer chicken enchilada casserole, green corn tamale pie, handmade tortillas and Gordo’s special salsa.

M-m-m-m-m-m, green corn tamale pie sounds great.

Whenever I was in Tucson I'd get green corn tamales when in season at La Suprema on 4th and Park I believe. It's not there anymore, has a new name actually.
