Arizona state senator walks back 'Nazi' comments

Senate leaders at the state Capitol have been called many things, but Democratic Sen. Andrea Dalessandro hit a new low when she called the GOP chiefs "Nazis."

The comment came during an endorsement interview with the Arizona Daily Star for the state Senate seat in Legislative District 2. She then expanded on her views in Facebook posts, likening successful GOP legislation that redid campaign-finance laws, cut cash assistance to the poor and clamped down on local control as akin to Nazi rule.

Berated by her colleagues from both sides of the aisle as well as the Anti-Defamation League, the Sahuarita senator deleted her Facebook posts and issued an apology Monday, saying she regretted her comments.

"I let my frustration with how they treat legislators who disagree with them cloud my better judgment, and for that I apologize,” she wrote. "Having grown up with friends whose entire families were lost to the Holocaust, I am well aware of how much this tragedy weighs on the soul of humanity. My comments were insensitive to those who suffered, those who survived, and those who work to ensure the world never forgets and never again witnesses such horror.”

After being around republicans at work the majority of them are national socialists. Hillary was correct with deplorable. There are a few old school Republicans they are few and in between. Mostly they talk about guns how many people they can kill with said gun. Pray for someone to break into their house so they can kill legally. Talk about how Hitler wasn't such a bad guy.and Quote Mussolini. The United States should have never allowed Nazis into our country after WWII.
