Tucson's only daily newspaper lays off 25% of newsroom staff.

New hires to 30-year newsroom veterans got the axe this week at The Arizona Daily Star.

I think The Powers That Be are trying to kill it off entirely. A populace informed of local, national and international news is dangerous.

And this shell of a husk now costs 4.6 times more to subscribe to than it did 10 years ago.
