Golden Globes - CAN NOT believe - nothing for

Nothing for Leftovers or Shameless or Getting On - nor any actors ???

Three of the best and amazing shows

Why in the WORLD does Julia Louis-Dreyfess get nominated (and win) ???

Nothing she is doing is anything special - in fact she has an annoying hard edge - forced crudeness - that is extremely unnatural.

Then you see the brilliant Justin Theroux and Carrie Coon on Leftovers

And don't get me started on Shameless - hell the young girl, Emma Kenney, Shanda Hampton, Emmy Rossum, William Macy !!

And what about Getting On??? Yikes a zillion times more talent than Julia has in her baby finger. Alex Borstein, Laurie Metcalf, Niecy Nash !!!

Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

I have almost fell over dead laughing so hard watching her on "Veep"!

It may be decades of familiarity, a little bit!

I enjoy the Leftovers (nutty fun) but don't watch Shameless (so no comment).

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is from one of the wealthiest families in the world. I don't know how much that plays a role in her acclaim.

popular among the Hollywood voters. She was brilliant on Seinfeld, sure.

Valerief ! you have GOT to watch Shameless - brilliantly satiric ! Funky family in Chicago with William Macy as patriarch (drunk scammer) and the family has to scam and make ends meet. Totally off the wall. Kids stealing toilet paper out of public rest rooms.

I think....one of them HBO or ST don't allow you to stream to TV from PC.

It is a quirk in their rules. they let you access HBO and ST on PC when you have a home TV subscription, which we do. But...they have no way to control who you give to. It's like - we could be camping in Alaska and they wouldn't know - so no way to control.

I always think the young actors in that show are terrific, aren't they? Some of those roles don't seem easy to play for such young people. I mean it can be pretty dark.

I watched the British series. When I heard they were making an American version I thought it wouldn't be as good. The Brits seem to be able to get away with much more on their tv. I couldn't imagine some of those scenarios playing out in America. And I couldn't see William Macy playing Frank. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised that it's as good as the original. Can't wait for the new season. The entire cast is fantastic.

I also liked The Leftovers. It's kinda weird so I can see it not getting nominated. Science fiction-y type shows rarely get rewarded for some reason.

Never saw Getting On.

(I don't like JLD either - I think Veep is unwatchable, yet it wins awards all the time).

"low key" is amazing. One of the very best to me was Lip's old flame - Mandy. I looked her up and was surprised at her background - grew up and studied acting in London.

To me, she played the most perfect wrong-side-of-the-tracks character. No confidence, always looking down, low-key, letting Lip treat her badly.
