1. That seems too easy--MORE SPOILERS

We were discussing this also, and I'm thinking that Branch killed or at least wounded his dad. The dad had emptied his gun before he sat down--I noticed that he put the empty shells in his pouch and didn't reload--but Branch did load his gun. I think they're trying to lead us to think Branch is dead but I'm not so sure. You see the bird fly and Branch turn to look but then.........

So would poor Branch then be on trial for killing his dad in the next season? Or would he use the Cheney defense, lol??

I can't figure out from what we've seen, why Connelly would have killed the wife either. Martha had cancer and was going to die anyway, so why kill her? Unless more on this will be revealed next season. Or the guy is just such a privileged a-hole, and hated Longmire so much he wanted to drive him over the edge. (Shades of McRaney's George Hearst in Deadwood!!)

I thought the scene with Walt letting his wife's ashes go was pretty touching.

It's awful that we'll have to wait until next June for more! (Assuming they'll do another season, which I think is planned.) And, finally, what the heck is with all the commercials in this show? Good grief, it was about 10 mins of commercials to 10 mins of story.

I thought Miller Beck killed Martha Longmire. I also don't understand why Connally would want her dead. Nasty old man.

It looked to me like Branch looked at the bird, giving his old man the advantage. I think both were loaded.

Miller Beck did kill Martha, but apparently he was 'borrowed' from Nighthorse by Barlow Connelly. But so far I can't see why. Maybe that's a mystery for next season.

Branch did look towards the bird, but hopefully he was fast enough to turn and get his dad. Comments on the recap page mentioned below said that Barlow was using yellow shells, but I missed that, so will have to see if I can catch a replay and watch more carefully. After the sound of the shotgun it was a red shell that it the ground. What a good show!!!

5. Barlow was using red shells,

and it was a red shell that fell to the ground as the disk flew unharmed.

Barlow has shown himself to be downright evil. He'd rather kill his grown son and try to have another son with a nonexistent female partner.

I hope Branch survives. Unfortunately, I think the story would be more interesting if Branch is killed or put in a coma. I think maybe Branch called Walt and left a message to give him a heads-up about his dad and evidence.

Longmire Season 3 Finale Recap
That’s called ending your season with a bang.

As A&E’s Longmire closed Season 3 on Monday night, Walt dug up the truth about Miller Beck’s murder, while Branch uncovered some damning family secrets of his own — for better or for worse.

Barlow for a moment seems contrite about his despicable actions, but then with a chilling coldness he observes that at age 65, “I don’t have time to make another fortune… but I do have time to make another son.” And on that cue, he triggers the skeet trap to distract Branch, and then the camera cuts to Walt at his home as a shotgun goes off in the distance.

Even after reading this recap I'm still a little confused. Can't wait for next season & there better be a next season, damn it!!!!

(That Branch gets the shot in and thus survives or alternately that Henry was nearby enough to save him).
I just don't see them getting rid of a major character as there really aren't that many of them...

is that Branch killed or seriously wounded his father. The confession by Barlow however does let Knighthorse off the hook for the murder of Martha.

I would really like to see more done with Ferg's character as he comes across as a decent kind of guy.

Those who are pointing out that Branch's father had discharged his yellow shell and that the final shot produced a red shell are correct, it appears. Thus, I am thinking that Branch got off the final shot. Good, if so.

If Miller Beck killed Mrs. Longmire, did David Bridges kill Beck to keep him quiet?

Or, did Bridges kill Mrs.Longmire and frame Miller Beck?

Correct me if I'm wrong... David Bridges was Nighthorse's soldier. Miller Beck was a drug addict (unreliable as a soldier).

Like others commented, why kill Mrs. Longmire long before the election, when she was dying of cancer?

Where did the knife in David Bridges back come from (upon jumping onto Walt)?

When, where, and why did Henry have a couple of Miller Beck's teeth?

also if no one here answers my question I go cheat here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Longmire_episodes

Season 1, episode 5 "Dog Soldier"
and
Season 2, episode 13 "Bad Medicine"

can answer your teeth questions, I think.

I had a stroke and it's a little hard for me to type too much but I hope wiki can help you a little.
