Hey everyone. Sorry I have been missing in action for a few weeks. Its been crazy busy for me at work and at home. The past few weeks I did not even watch the episodes until Sunday afternoon, so I never did recaps. But I watched it live last night.
I loved last night's episode. These people are idiots. How Kas, Woo, Trish and Jefra did not vote to evict Tony when they had the numbers and don;t need his vote to stay in the majority, I will never understand. It was the perfect night to oust him. I thought his flipping on them and ousting LJ would show them that he is only int he game for himself. But Trish, who is a terrible player, just said exactly what her puppet master wanted. She is just a hand puppet for Tony and a free vote for him.
The HErmit Crab makes another shack for himself to hide and spy. He hears Jefra and Trish and that Jefra just didnt feel she could trust Tony. Uh Oh for Jefra. The RC was fun this week. A boatr race and word puzzle. Spencer, Tasha, Jefra and Jeremiah won. this is the perfect set up. the three minority alliance members and the one who is clearly at the bottom of the other alliance. Jefra can move up from 5 to 4 with a move, and maybe move up to 2 if she can find out which of these three are really a two. After getting letters, Jefra jumped ship and made a final four deal with the others. That was the best move she made all game. But, it did not last.
They went right to the IC, so we did not get to see what happened at camp, but I bet there was some talking when they returned. The IC was a good one. Balance a ball on top of a platform on a stick while balancing on an angled, narrowing beam. Quickly it was woo, Spencer and Tasha. Spencer and Tasha are showing they can play the physical side of this game with the best of them. sad they sucked so bad at the outwit side of the game.
At camp, Tony goes idol hunting. No one thought to follow him. Tony finds the greatest idol ever. He can keep it in his pocket and use it after the votes are read. Meanwhile, Trish and Kas get Jefra back on team Tony and she tells Jeremiah she wasnt going to be able to vote with them at tribal. WHAT?
Dumb girl. Bad move. Tony was waiting to get picked off, but your own dumb 5some did not see it. Tribal was as expected. Spencer had to make a call between using the idol on him or Jeremiah. He used it on himself, which was the smart move, to be safe. But they picked Jeremiah.

(20,805 posts)I don't know whether Tony is just lucky, or sly like a fox, because almost all of his moves have paid off. Heck , he had Spencer admitting at TC that if he were voted out and Tony made it to the end he would get Spencer's vote!
I simply do not understand how they thought that Jeremiah was a bigger threat than Tony, last night was the perfect opportunity to get rid of him...until he found the most awesome Immunity Idol EVER!!
So, Trish thinks she's got a pretty good bead on the game, Kass has gone quiet (and continues to be next to useless at challenges), Jefra is just as dumb as the day is long, and Tasha is quietly playing a good game...getting immunity when she needs it, helping to win challenges, not making herself a target, and mostly going with the flow...
Tony is in the cat-bird seat right now with his Super-Dee-Duper Immunity Idol (holy crap..how cool is it that you get to play it AFTER the votes are read?!) and everyone else will be scrambling for another hidden idol back at camp...
Absolutely love this season...the only new 'gimmick' is this new idol, which is by far the best way to add another level of strategy rather than the awful redemption island concept...Let's hope they stay with this in up-coming seasons...

(16,334 posts)the players hear a lot more than what they show on TV....HOWEVER, it seemed to me that during tribal Tony admitted they thought Spencer had an idol. To me, that should have been a sign to Spencer that they were not going to vote for him. I agree he couldn't take a chance but he didn't seem to catch what they said.
Jeremiah was sorta dead weight as far as I'm concerned.
I don't know what the stats are but I think Kass is wrong on her assessment about taking the annoying person to the end. Tony has earned his way to the top just for purely playing the game FAR more than the others. On the other hand, I don't think people would vote for her because she is both annoying and hasn't been smart about the way she made moves.

(4,851 posts)I don;t think Tony is a very good player at all, but he is the only one in his alliance playign at all. He set himself up to win with average play because he is going to get to the end with a bunch of idiots. Its been a fun season to watch, but the play has been sub-par.

(16,334 posts)although the challenges have been good and the lack of redemption island has changed things back a little.

(4,851 posts)They are interesting to watch, and keep hoping that someone wakes up to stop Tony from walking away with a win while never scoring a home run, but I doubt it will happen. I am caling it for Tony now. Maybe someone else will start playing, but so far its been nothing.

(30,745 posts)How does he get away with being so hyper all the time, or is that just for the cameras? I would want to get rid of him just because he never calms down. What is it that we the audience are not seeing?
Some cops, if they are good at their jobs, know how to read people. Maybe he has developed this skill, and knows just what to say to get people to do what he wants.
I thought early on that Spencer might be the winner. Now I am not so sure. I think he had to play his idol, though.
Watch Tasha. She is under the radar, and smarter than the other players realize.

(22,340 posts)He is going to have to pull some magic out at this point. Especially with the idol that they don't know about, it will take a lot to get rid of Tony.
There has to be something we aren't being shown about Tony. "How did I go against my word?" Um, you blindsided LJ. And nobody thinks it is time to get rid of him at that point? Either he is playing a master game we aren't seeing, or those people in his alliance are too stupid to even take a breath.

(20,805 posts)...so that counts him out for me...

(11,238 posts)I so want to see Tony gone. He's not mean like Russell Hantz, but he's not as clever/likeable as Boston Rob either. I agree, he's in his leadership position almost by default, b/c of how the other players are playing.
In the first or second episode, I thought Kass was going to be the shrewd one, but what a zero she turned out to be. I hope Spencer has it in him to really start strategizing now. Except for Tasha, the rest of the players are all followers. Tasha is an under-the-radar sort, and it's been shown they can win, but it's not clear what she's doing behind the scenes (if anything) that would secure her the votes in the final. Maybe Spencer & Tasha could win Kass back into a final-three alliance, based on their original brain tribe connection. It could happen, she's clueless enough.

(16,334 posts)make it look like she was able to do something except be stupid for no reason.
