Now I am reading that Josh Charles wanted out and they have been planning this for quite a while.

The only way he could return is to admit that the court room shooting was staged.

13. That's probably why the Florick kids haven't been in the last few episodes...

the producers might have figured they couldn't count on kids that age to keep their mouths shut.

5. I'm not sure I'll watch next season without JC.

I wanted him and Alicia back together. They were romantic; had great chemistry. His character was sharp, but emotional.

I think this will be Alicia's moment in realizing that she really loved him and she will miss him. I think her marriage to Peter is doomed. I wish Peter had been off'ed instead.

I've never seen a major character killed off like that where there wasn't at least some leak or foreshadowing.

Well played.

I'm reeling. I loved Will Gardner and hoped for a Will and Alicia reconciliation. I've been distracted all day, to say the least.

Knowing JC wanted out makes it easier. This is such a well acted show, I look forward to what comes next. But I wanted their happy ending, dammit!

7. My favorite moment was when they got a room.

There was a convention and no rooms left at the hotel where they had been drinking. Gardner used plastic, paid $7,000 for the Presidential Suite to spend the night with her. Mika's Any Other World was playing while they road the elevator up.

Other great moments included their remembrances of being together.

John Noble's, I mean. Loved that scene from a few weeks ago. JC killed that.

We may have to look for more copycat in the future, I think. The shock value is what the producers love.

that Will had a fling with in a couple of recent episodes, turn up pregnant with his baby. (She did announce, after their first night together, that she wanted to have his baby, and Will wasn't quite sure that she was joking). I agree with you---I wanted Alicia and Will to realize they were soul mates! I guess I am a romantic at heart.

12. Remember the love scene between Alecia and Will when she whispered

"This is the happiest I have ever been." That was such a beautiful scene I will always remember it.

Will's sudden death made me feel so bad I could not believe it. I think it was a mistake to shock the longstanding viewers of this show in this manner. There is absolutely no way Josh Charles could ever even make a guest appearance on the show since they chose this avenue to pursue. But such a violent way to have him die and so suddenly - I hope the writers are satisfied with the moment of shock value they received for this...personally, I think it was a betrayal to those who have followed the show since its first airing and loved it for so many reasons, none of which include violent death.

I think this is perhaps the best show on cable and I believe it has been damaged by this decision.

14. They could still bring him back occasionally in a "flashback."

Remember a couple of weeks ago, when they showed Alicia thinking about the time when she was first looking for a job and happened to bump into him? I understand your feelings of being let down. A successful TV series like this builds a devoted viewer base, without whom they could not continue. They know that people develop an emotional connection and look forward to seeing the next episode. I think they realized that many people would be upset or they wouldn't have had a prepared statement immediately following the show that night. I know it's only a tv show, but heck, Will was in the process of expanding the firm with offices all over the country...they could just as easily have had him announce that he was moving to LA or NY to head the new branch of Lockhart Gardner.

15. Yes, I think they should have accommodated his desire to leave with an option that

didn't involve sudden death. Series typically set a tone, and one just didn't expect something like this from The Good Wife.

I know they will have flashbacks. There is one scene (new) they have already filmed and I think it will air next week. It is a scene between Will and Alecia.

I am wondering if Kalenda (sp?) will also be exiting. I really like her character as well. I saw a uncertain reference to this so I am not sure. I read somewhere that the character that plays the obnoxious litigator (David Lee?) has been offered another role and will be leaving.

Things just aren't going to be the same any more. It's a shame. I thought that was the best series on cable.

tnan it did for the several actors who left M*A*S*H. There must be other actors who made a move like this and it did not turn out well. Then again, there are many actors who left series television and did quite well, George Clooney comes to mind.

I hope Alicia and her husband break up, but I don't want to see her with another man.

Boston Legal seemed to move many characters in and out and did ok. The Practice axed half of their regulars and struggled through one last season.

I don't know what they are going to do with Alicia and Peter. They can't have her moving into the governor's mansion, if there is one in Chicago. They will probably bring in a new character as her secret love interest.
