There seems to be little to no real focus on either the 'old' case or the 'new' case. The main story being told is much more focused on the personalities of Woody and Matthew and how the politics of the case effects them , which they are keeping interesting but... I kind of hope at some point they give some more detail on the investigations.

I think they found a much, much better balance between character and case... Shifting the character development to occur during the investigation instead of as a an almost side story... Best episode so far

is one of the most amazing actors ever. Woody isn't bad either but MM is astoundingly good. Just finished watching Ep. 4.
It's getting extremely heavy. Going to be super interesting to see how this turns out.

My husband went to see The Dallas Buyer's Club and said it blew him away. My health is crappy, so can't go to the theater - oh well, just glad I can get up in the morning. Can't wait until it's on Netflix or wherever.

and they have a have great chemistry working together. The last 15 minutes of ep4 were intense! There was a 6 minute scene there was was all done in one shot.

True Detective show is proving to be as equal as Sherlock in terms of script, performance and everything by which a show is made.

And each episode gets more intense, somehow.

Who knew McConaughey was this good? (Or that he looks like Harry Dean Stanton?)

I think I figured out part of the story in the spoiler thread posted last week. I don't know where they're going to twist the idea from where they are, tho, because I thought that might be the end game, but they put it in the middle of the series.

I think I have to post other spoilery speculation in the other thread b/c I don't want to spoil what's happened for others.
