Related: About this forumGlee Tribute to actor Corey Monteith and character, Finn
First I have to say, I am not a big Glee fan, as I find it vacillating between somewhat musically entertaining and (for teens, occasionally enlightening) to supercilious. But, I have, admittedly watched a few episodes each season.
That said, I was interested in how they would handle the loss of actor Corey Monteith, whose death I found to be particularly sad, so, I recorded and watched it this AM.
I think it was poignant and with some exceptions well done (the silly scene with Emma as "grief counselor" with her highly inappropriate "pamphlets"-- I found irritatingly disparaging of what REAL grief counselors are trained and try hard to do and totally unnecessary) and having Glee Coach Will Schuester steal Finn's jacket, while pinning it on former student, Puck was very strange.
But, also unusual was that they totally left out two major characters in the episode--most notably Quinn--who arguably had one of the longest and major story lines with Monteith's character.
Seems bizarre...
But, I have to say that their bringing in Lea Michele's character at the end was quite poignant.
Anyone else watch?

(4,178 posts)I watch some Glee. Didn't see all of last season.
The tribute was beautiful, especially the music. Leah Michele 's song was inspirational. To see the actors experiencing real grief....
Kirk....looked like he had lost weight from grieving.
I like that they did not say how Finn died. Good that there was no invented story or that they tried to deal with drug problems during the tribute.
Maybe the "Quinn" actress is not part of the cast now?
Glee is a groundbreaking show that I would encourage young people to watch.

(5,435 posts)Lyric and i are both admittedly 'Gleeks'... have seen every episode at least once.
This was, for the most part, beautifully done... but only because you could feel the REAL emotion from Monteith's acting family.
These were not actors playing a role... these were people processing their own grief in the context of the characters, and it shows.
I could not be more impressed with teh depth of professionalism that every member of the cast exhibited...
Don't know how they endured the agony of making this episode... don't think i could.
RIP Cory...
