They say things come in three's...

Well for me they have

Lost the great author, Elmore Leonard who died

Lost Actor Lee Thompson Young who committed suicide (from show 'Rizzoli & Isles')

Lost one of my favorite tv shows 'Magic City' because stupid STARZ canceled it.

I am really sad about this!

1. While I loved Magic City

It was expensive as hell to make and no one watched it. I would have loved the show to take off, but Starz was hardly stupid here. They did all they could, including give it a second season when the numbers justified cancelling it after the first season. No one watched, the on demand numbers were terrible, no one bought the dvd. While I watched it live every Friday night this season, I was with you in a very small minority group of fans. But Starz promoted the heck out of it, gave it a very expensive second season and even brought in a huge name in the genre to play the mob boss. But not even Sonny Corleon could get critics or fans to support the show. I will miss it, but I thank Starz for giving me this extra season.

I am directing my anger at the viewers who watched reruns of Betty White and Hawaii 5.0 all summer instead of Starz great show. But Starz is doing some great things. the White Queen has been great. Black Sails is going to be AMAZING and Outlander looks good too. Plus there is a NYC based mob/drug dealer/nightclub show in the works that loosk great and rumors are flying that Starz is going to do a high production value animated series, which would be great. Anyway, I share your anger, but don;t direct it at Starz. they did all they could. Find an idiot who watches BEtty White and throw a rotten tomatoe at him/her.

or any of 100 so called reality shows. There is great scripted TV with quality writing, acting and production and instead people watch train crashes. Anyway, enjoy the White Queen, its good, and just wait until you see the Pirates of Black Sails. It will be amazing.

I am a fan of construction shows and regularly watch the DIY shows where projects are followed over the course of a season. I also understand the game type shows like survivor or the amazing race, which I also enjoy and watch. But these "reality shows" which are just staged drama. Someone acting crazy in front of a camera just to make money, whether it be a celeb or a person deperate for celebrity, it kills me.

Also like TLC's Who Do You Think You Are. I'm an amateur genealogist.

And then there is always Anthony Bourdain or The Discovery Channel. I also like game shows like Jeopardy.

So I guess I do like some types of reality shows, just not the stupid cheaply made stuff.

I never found shows like survivor or the amazing race interesting for myself but can see why others might, same with Sports (except my beloved Boston Red Sox, them I like .

Football not so much for me.

Too little time for all the things I like I guess

But that doesn't mean that I am still not pissed about Magic City. I loved that show! Damn it!
