Under the Dome (no spoilers)

I could have sworn this was going to be a mini-series and not a regular series but it appears I may have been wrong about that... I say 'may' because I would not be surprised to see this show get cancelled, allowing me to re-write my mental history of things and set the world right again

I was looking forward to this but now that I've seen it... Could someone please make it stop? I love the concept going on here but I'm not seeing any aspect of it being executed well and to make it even worse, the show gets worse with each episode so far (I've seen the first 4). There were a few decent special effect in the first episode and one quick scene that was wicked creepy in the 4th episode but we are talking about 1-2 minutes of show worth seeing over 4 episodes so far... Not a great start.

The writing is horrid, the camera work is adequate at best, the acting is beyond bad (even Dean Norris who is amazing in Breaking Bad is struggling to make anything out of this mess) and damn... Even the pacing does not feel right to me... They seem to spend far to little time on 'resolutions' after as much time they spend building something up... I don't know, seems that way to me.

I'm going to give it at least a few more episodes (if it lasts) but if it does not pick up soon, I won't make it to the end of the season.

When a viewer doesn't care about any of the characters, it is difficult to become invested in their plight.

for a summer series. Its getting an 8 share, with 1.5 million in the 18-49 demo, so I think the advertisers are pleased with it. That is all that matters. As for the show, I like it.

I rarely watch hour-long dramas, so this isn't the norm for me. I really like Linda, the sheriff, and Julia, the reporter. The villains are adequately evil for me so far, although I don't really understand all the background on some of them.

I'm not qualified to critique the acting, directing, etc. It holds my interest and the stories are just suspenseful enough for me without being gruesome or disturbing.
