Survivor Caramoan - Episode 4 Discussion Thread - NO SPOILERS PLEASE
This was a good episode marked by good gameplay, and the exit of one of the worst players ever. I have lost so much respect for Eddie. He is one of the typical strong male stereotypes. He needs to be around for a challenge or two more, but he is so stupid and does nto get the game at all. If Shamar had not lost it and gotten injured, Eddie would have been gone. He just does not get this game. They come back and he is whining that Hope was the prettiest one. Yeah, that is why you got her voted out. I tip my hat to Reynold who realized that going after Shamar was not going to work and that since the "nerdy kids" had the numbers, they should focus their attack on Laura.
The reward challenge was cool and team Crazy Phillip did well. It was close, but in the end the favs pulled it out. This led to my favorite visitor ever. Tata was awesome. The “Filipino Golem” was mostly there to make them laugh and oogle the girls. He did teach them how to cook rice in bamboo and gave them a good meal. The shelter looked better due to his work, but it was really just for good funny TV. Meanwhile, Shamar hurt his eye and got the way out he wanted. It is a legitimate medical evacuation, but given Shamar's trying to quit, I still feel like he sort of quit.
I loved the IC this week. Swim out to a platform. Scale it and jump off with a club to break tiles with keys attached hanging out over the water. The Favorites are kicking butt. Eddie makes up some time, but not enough to matter. Once the keys are back, its open up 3 locks (5 keys) and toss beanbags to knock blocks off a beam ala old carnival games. Reynold rocks with the throwing games. But given the time that Phillip had going in, it was too much for Reynold to overcome. But the IC was enough to show that without Shamar, the nerdy kids can not lose Eddie or Reynold. It was clear that Laura had to go. The only thing that bothered me here is that Matt almost screwed up getting the idol out. He had the votes to tell Reynold that he was getting the majority of the votes, but a few more would go to Laura and if he played the idol, he would stay. I do not know who saved the day by keeping Reynold on his toes, but something tells me it was Sherri. So at least they flushed the idol and Reynold is still there.
Next week the attractions show Brandon going crazy. We will see.
