Say it ain't so, Storage Wars is "faked"

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/storage-wars-staged-fired-star-claims-lawsuit-193712014.html

"Storage Wars" star David Hester says in a lawsuit filed Tuesday that he was fired after complaining that the reality show is staged.

In the lawsuit, Hester contends that the producers of the hit A&E series routinely plant valuable items in the storage lockers seen on the show. Competitors place bids on the lockers without knowing what is inside them, hoping to come across forgotten treasures.

I love the show and will miss Dave Hester on the show. But I am not surprised at all that it might be a "set up" and edited a lot. Still, I like watching it. Go Team Barry!

And with editing, it gave the appearance that in every fifth unit you'd find a rare and valuable (fill in blank).

I don't begrudge their wanting to spice up the show, but faced with the accusation I wish they would fess up about it.

Dave Hester I will not miss, I think he models poor human behavior by making others' lives miserable.

I don't think it's very nice, we have well enough of that already.

he bought all those big trucks and dressed his guys up in matching tshirts and thought he was the big dog of the show. running up the bids just to be mean.

Dale is a schmuck, his kid seem ok though

I root for team Brandi, she's gotta keep Jared in line, and they have kiddos at home to support.

You don't find ancient artifacts in storage lockers. However, Hester (though I sort of liked him -- he just buys in bulk and tries to sell it as a win even when it's a loss as an old buyer's tactic) is exaggerating. I know someone who runs a storage facility where they've filmed. The bidders do not know what's in the lockers, only the producers do. Some of the competitive bidders are extras, but the actual bidding is real. Oh, and they never cut or saw a lock off a locker. Most of it is digital now.

Always in the back corner behind all the junk items there is a box or drawer holding that one big ticket item. If there is one expensive item there might be more but they stop searching.
I love the show but hate they have it rigged.
