1. I think they just might be getting ready for a good shark-jumping...

The whorehouse was a nice touch of reality, but the fistfight and the kiss were a little OTT.

Too bad that good shows keep trying to top themselves when they realize start thinking that just continuing a good story might be boring.

Once again I came away with the feeling that this episode was a mixed bag of some great humour, and interesting situational twists, but a plot thats grasping everywhere but goes nowhere except forward in time, clutching every historical and cultural references it can along the way. Personally, I'd be happier if they left it in the early sixties and stuck to pitching brilliant ideas with more or less the original characters.

To quote Roger Sterling: "I know cooler heads should prevail, but am I the only one who wants to see this?"

Me too, Roger. Me too.

9. There are only supposed to be 2 more seasons after this one

Weiner said the theme of this season is "when's everything going to get back to normal" which could be symbolic for what is going on at this point in the 60s - meaning, never, which makes me think this season could be a bridge between the MadMen we loved and a spectacular ending two seasons from now.

to suggest Pete is not long for the world. Here's a link to her latest bit... The earlier piece is also linked on that page... I wasn't so sure after her first article, but I'm sort of thinking she might be right.

As for the rest, my Gawd the "fat suit" they had Don's ex-wife, Betty wearing in last week's episode (it was some kind of rubbery neck device). Heavens to Betsy! (and yes, I know she was pregnant in real life, but that didn't account for most of the "weight" they packed on her.

the one listing all of the "clues" that she thinks points to Pete's eventual demise.

Personally, I see plenty of those same clues, but I see them as symbolic of the era, of the turmoil of the times, the Cold War, etc. Not necessarily of the death of Pete. If anything, I'd think it would be Megan, just so we get to see Don suffer some more.

He'll screw up, Trudy will find out and go medieval on his ass with a divorce lawyer and Pete will start chasing Peggy to no avail. Jane Sterling though......... she's a future drug overdose waiting to happen, then Roger will be free as bird.
