Related: About this forumApril 1st, I'll be watching the premier of 2nd Season AMC "The Killing" ...
this evening.
Some of last year's watchers have sworn off this Season because they felt cheated out of
a Season ending conclusion.
I didn't feel cheated.

I didn't feel cheated by season 1. But I do think one season really ought to be enough to wrap up one murder investigation. Most shows do it in one episode.

I am a detail person..this show is loaded with details.

(1,502 posts)It's like having an entire season of Survivor wrapped up in one episode. That's lazy television. I had no problem with the Killing finale just like I had no problem with Game of Thrones killing off the "Lead Actor" in the first season or Boardwalk Empire killing off the co Lead in their second season. I prefer appointment television, where if you miss one you might be fucked in following the next week.
I'd like to point out here to anyone who hated The Killing finale and touts the original Danish version that the Danish version "Forbrydelsen" had the same backlash showing the first 10 eps that the next "season" aired 9 months later after the first premiered (would have been a full year had the backlash from the first cliffhanger not angered enough people to get it moved up 3 months). So most of the non Danish viewers don't know about this and watch the 20 episodes of "Forbrydelsen" not realizing there was a 9 month break in the middle.

(62,270 posts)It requires a concerted effort on my part to believe that everyone would still be working. I mean, Linden? Should've been fired at the end of the first season. They at least appear to be making it more convincing this season though.

(14,557 posts)an old set of eyes that would try to wrap this case up soon.
Boy oh boy did she make errors with her short cuts, but she has a fierce loyalty to her
profession and now that she has made up her mind to stay in Seattle, I bet we see some
exacting detective work and a true conclusion.
I just hope Holder turns out to really be a good cop in the long run...We'll see.

(62,270 posts)At first it sounded like Holder knew that the photos were faked, but he was just playing short cut dirty cop as opposed to someone on the payroll of the mayor. I couldn't have forgiven Holder if he knew and then somehow "grew a conscious" or whatever, but because he was ignorant his lapse in judgment is forgivable. I kinda do wish Linden talked to him though, if she told him the photos were faked, he'd have been working with her throughout the episode and Linden wouldn't have come off as slightly tin foil hatty, imo. But, I can't really blame her as the photos did originate with Linden and he could've been the dirty cop, so she was being careful. When she saw that guys photo on the wall in the police station she connected it though and could've forgiven Holder. I'm sure that will happen.
I love watching this show but I kind of hate it since they almost reset every episode but that's OK for me. I could just watch Holder and Linden sitting in their car smoking and drinking coffee for the 40 minutes it's on.
Son of Gob
(1,502 posts)He's a good actor. That being said I don't think anyone could headbutt a huge dent into a hotel door like his character did last night. Unrealistic.

These supposed CPS men might be a set up to rattle Linden.

(23,796 posts)I was hate-watching at the beginning of this second season. I got more into it again, but the article is pretty dead on a lot of ways. I'm totally shipping Mitch for the murder, too. It's probably the head of the casino, though.

Great article.
