Survivor One World - Episode Five Discussion thread

Well, those dumb-ass guys certainly have been proven to be idiots. The horrific decision to allow a 2 person shift in power (from 8-6 which would have been the numbers if the women went to tribal to 7-7 since the men volunteered to go) now has been shown to be more stupid because of the tribe shift.

I always wonder if things like that were planned all along or if MB and Jeff add it in after dumb moves because it makes for such good tv.

Anyway, after the gift, the women find out what happened and are pretty glad about it. The women make a promise to stay united so they can go into the merge with numbers, lets see how long that lasts. Once they get at the reward challenge ... they are switching tribes. So Michael, Sabrina, Kat, Kim, Jay, Chelsea and Troyzan are the new Salani tribe. Tarzan, Colton, Christina, Alicia, Monica, Leif and Jonas are the new Manono tribe. It so unfair. Salani is the young buff team while Manono got not only the outcase alliance men, but monica, Christina and Alicia. Only Monica has any athletic ability. So of course, she has to go, right.

On Salani, its clear that the women are in charge. They have the numbers. Had they only had six, the odds were that they would not have the numbers, but the men screwed that up. Colton, being the whining goat that he is, complains, but does do a good job of securing power for himself. At the IC, the Salani tribe dominated. Other than Monica, none of them could possibly beat their competition. So its time to dump the only athletic person on the team.

Tribal was fun, only because of Tarzan. He is a genius who can't remember people's names. I am starting to like him. They do the expected and vote out Monica. I will miss seeing her in a bikini, that woman is hot. She was my favorite this season. Oh well.

..and yes she was hot...this season actually has a high complement of hot ladies (my personal fave is Christina)...and most of the guys look like Abercrombie male models...so I'm thinking that someone, somewhere said they needed to up the eye-candy contingent if they ditched the 'returning stars' concept...

As the producers planned, Colton is now officially this season's villain, and we will all tune in each week to see if/when he gets his comeuppance...I am getting so tired of this aspect of the series...every season there is one person that becomes the villain and every season the rest of their clueless tribe just goes along with it...Have this season's players never watched the show before?? Seriously, tell Colton you're going along with whatever he has planned, and then blindside him at TC...How hard can it be??

Overall it's a very frustrating season, tough to get into, made slightly easier by the bevy of beautiful bikini babes on the island....

Even if only for a few seconds during a commercial break.

When the tribes switched, did the HII go back to belonging to whoever found it? I was expecting Kim to have to give it to the other tribe, but it looked like there was no instruction to that effect and she gets to keep it herself. So I'm now assuming that idol instruction was only for the male vs female tribes? I guess since the tribes are no longer sharing a camp there would really not be a way for her to sneak it to someone else anyway.

I still don't get why they always feel the need to share the idol info with someone else right away.

But regardless, the women already gave their idol to the men, so the one she found would have been the woman's idol anyway. But once they switched, I assume it became an open idol.
