And I read on a Twitter feed that since Hercule Poirot's first case was in 1920, Lord Grantham should hire him to free Bates. Great idea.

Great finale! Can't wait for next January.

If he did, Matthew would not be heir to the estate. Things were more complicated for heirs before fingerprint technology and DNA, eh?

....then he and Lady Mary will simply be a family with no claim to land or income. And if Patrick hooked up with Edith, then Edith would be in the superior position as the wife of the future Earl of Grantham.

All interesting.

I hope we don't see Robert, Earl of Grantham die. I'm very fond of that character. And I hope we don't see Lady Mary suffer again.

This series was a lovely diversion during the dregs of winter and the dreck of politics. Now what?

So many threads to be addressed in year three; hope matthew and mary close the deal. But the last scene was sweet and hopeful.

I'm printing out the paper dolls from another thread. A coworker swore she'd get a picture of Shirley McClaine and we'd stick it on an extra paper doll, just to be ready for season 3.
