light painting experiment

im trying some light painting. I built a contraption to help me out after my first attempt failed.

3. I put a broomstick on a paint roller (just the frame)

then i shoved a wooden pole into the roller frame so it was wedged in. I duct taped the pole so it would stay in the frame. at the other end of the pole I duct taped a led light.
This way I could keep the broomstick planted on the ground while I circled around it while at the same time spinning the pole with the light in a loop using the paint roller.

on good old Kodachrome with a star filter (b4 PS) and had some really interesting results in that any pause in the light motion would produce a star/flare.

And a tad safer than stuffing a wire wisk, thats attached to a chain, full of steel wool and setting it ablaze whilst swinging it about.
