5. All I remember is from childhood, 55 years ago.

That's about when my folks moved from Grand Rapids to Los Angeles.

6. You might be surprised

If you have not been back to Grand Rapids in 55 years you might be pleasantly surprised by it today. It's been transformed from kind of a drab industrial city into a really nice place with a micro-urban downtown that has a great vibe. It hosts an annual arts prize contest downtown which is kind of an arts festival for a variety of different mediums, that highlights some incredible work.

I grew up in the Great Lake State, in Detroit and have family there still. Even a few up in the Petoskey area. Love the colors!

Great colors! It's pretty down here in the Four Corners, but I do miss the reds of New England. Mostly yellows here.
