(22,380 posts)1. Nice - you shot these straight down -
it works especially well on the rose bud which is my favorite in the bunch, and the striped clematis. I like the angles and the colors.

Actually, most were shot at eye level. I am short; only 5'7" (though a lying nurse at the doctor's office claims I'm 5'6" . I have several trellises around my yard, which have rose bushes and clematis vines together. The rose bud was at nose level for me. The others were high, but not taller than me, so I moved from side to side to get an angle I liked. The only real "down angle," is on the peony, but I was squatting and off to the side a bit.
I have very bright colored flowers in my backyard.

I liked the different angle of these shots

Most of the angles were simply side stepping because the flowers were all at my eye level. They are on trellises, except the peony.

The angle of that shot is great and I really like the "fuzzy" bud next to the bloom.
Such soft, wonderful colors on the other flowers.

That angle (for the rose bud) is eye-to-eye. I have a huge trellis on my back wall, so I actually have roses cresting over the gutter. It gets a little crazy because the bush has grown so large, I am unsure how to scale it back some.
