It is a stunning sight. I'm sorry about your battery! I have a charger and two batteries, so that there's always one ready when the first one quits.
In fact, after getting this photo (and some others) tonight, my battery decided it was time to get charged up, so I took it to the charger and made the switch.

or the Blood Moon...calls us to move forward in the face of adversity. This moon could bring sudden and drastic change and possibly falls from grace and power, as well as transformation within relationships be they personal or political. Two moons gracing us this month give us the power to stand up for ourselves and take action in ways big and small.Regardless, this will be a powerful month...or at least that’s what my cards say...I’m still learning.

Maybe it was near the horizon? There the atmosphere scatters the blue light and the red is what you see. Or maybe there was smoke?
Whatever caused the color, it must have been gorgeous!
