but to me it is quite the masterpiece.
Before I go off on a tangent, tell me if this is a real Butterfly, or a part of an installation.

in the "flutterby" garden at the New Orleans Insectarium I always am too mesmerized and lost in my fascination with the things of nature to get really great photographs... it is why I hesitated so long before I started playing with photography... I never want to lose 'the moment' by worrying about aperature and exposure and lenses and such... silly me

as for my "modern engineering"?? I know what I want and I am just having a very difficult time getting it to work for me

plus I am overdue for my online exam on the skeletal and muscular systems (taking a class in Human Anatomy and Physiology)... who would have though there were so many little bones and muscles to worry about

Your work here is getting continually more varied, and more interesting, if you allow me to say so.
Now that I know it's a live butterfly you captured in the other photo, I'm just blown away. The colors, the brown and the yellow are all exactly the same hue and just vary in the shade of the color. It makes it almost like a black and white in theory. The drop on the top left, and the small flaw in the paint on the bottom left give it perfect balance.
I love that photo.
(this one is not bad, either)

But totally slammed with projects for the next few months, although if I had the time I probably would have gone with this:

to see if anyone wanted to participate. I took my first shot at a contest that way. I did poorly, of course...but still.

Just a thought. I know it adds work to the job.
