LUMEN the Bright Side of Global Warming

The recent post in the contest post about a Global Warming theme made me think about a recent arts event here in NYC.

LUMEN is an annual event of performance, video and visual artists, it was held at one of the places where the road salt is stored for the season and normally the site would be empty but because of our mild winter it was full of salt. Artists being artists made use of the salt pile by using it in their performances and installations, it made for an interesting backdrop.

first photo! Fabulous . . . composition, multiply stories, intrigue, balance, etc.

Speaking of intrigue, your fourth photo fits that bill too. Putting my thinking cap on and trying to figure out how you did that, and how I can incorporate new ideas/learned techniques into my photos!

As far as the truck goes, they put blue gels on the existing industrial lighting so the picture is basically a straight out of the camera, hand held shot with a little itsy bitsy nudge on the contrast and luminance.
