Beautiful sight. I think tomorrow it will be closer to the star and equally beautiful.

But unless you see it before the sun rises, it will be nearly invisible. The sun’s brightness will swamp it at that time.

I leave my house at 4 am, so way before sunrise. Today the crescent moon was just up over the horizon, so tomorrow it will be higher in the sky, and I think closer to the bright star I saw. (not sure if it was Venus or not). I'll look to see if I can see any of the other planets. Thank you so much for the heads up. It was a nice way to begin the morning (4 am is killing me)

I have it set for Los Angeles since that's close by. But you can plug in your city and it will tell you when and where to look. And there's all sorts of other celestial info there too.

for a few days as it goes by the sun and has an eclipse on Friday/Saturday. Then the moon will be visible in the evening instead. Mercury is now becoming impossible to see as it nears the sun's placement in the sky. But Jupiter and Venus will eventually get closer to the point of being almost right next to each other in the coming weeks.

I love to watch the sky and now, after many years of actually having to get up and go outside and walk about thirty feet to see much sky, I can see all this out my bedroom window, some of it from bed! But I live in a place that I like less than the old one. Trade-offs for survival. I still am glad to be able to see so much now, though, especially when the weather is nasty. Here, at the new location, we have a lot more wind - gale force wind, so going out to look at the sky in my bathrobe isn't going to do it... at the old place, because it wasn't so winy all the time, I could go out at -20F and be okay for five minutes.

All I could see were two of the bodies at a time due to clouds this morning but I got to see them, then a bright red sunrise.
