***January Photo Contest***

Hi everyone!

It's time to start shooting or checking your archives.

The January photo contest theme is lighting (natural or artificial light), and as always, open to interpretation.

I'll start taking submissions on January 3. Entries can be b&w or color. Entries will be open until January 15.

Happy shooting!

in the contest's accompanying 'comments' thread explaining how you used light? Natural or contrived, what kind of light, how you manipulated the environment, the subject, the light or all of the above.

Such a wonderful opportunity to share technique and knowledge.

Great! I'll let spouse enter a couple because I'm lousy at it.

This will be one of the greatest photo contests ever on DU. Lurker for years reporting for duty, Callalily! Bookmarked till he gets home from work.

I’d enter one if I didn’t have to host if I won, just overloaded plus currently a forum host!

This is the first time that I've won (came in second once, whew), and I'm very nervous about hosting. Keep reading the tutorial over and over!

According to the rules pinned at the top of the forum,

Once a photo is entered in a contest it is ineligible for any future contest unless the Host specifies otherwise.

I have 4 or 5 that are so totally different but also specific to lighting and that all were taken this last month I can't decide

Depending on number of entrants and timing, the contest may accept more. But watch for a thread that will allow a second submissions before you post any additional photos.
