FULL on 10/24; hope I'll be home.

(149,712 posts)I really wanted to get this one. I've been trying, without any success for several days. I just didn't know my equipment well enough.
Today everything came together and here it is.
I hope you'll be home to see it too. And I hope that the skies will be clear for both of us.
For the real photographers (not like me--I just play at it!) my settings were F11 and 1/60 of a second. Remote cable, camera on manual focus and set at infinity.
What other settings would be better?

(131,129 posts)I just play at it too! Auto focus (I think; camera does the work! Ask the REAL photogs here what would be best!)

(149,712 posts)My lens is 16--300mm and it was all the way out, plus I cropped the photo.
Does that help?

(32,068 posts)Well done, CaliforniaPeggy!
We've been so covered with clouds here. Nothing like seeing the moon in a dark, velvety, night sky. I try to look for it every night when taking my dog out.

(149,712 posts)I hear you about the clouds. When I want to see the moon, I want those pesky clouds gone!

(5,403 posts)I've been watching the moon and Mars dance together all summer and into the fall.
What a lovely photo!

(149,712 posts)I've seen Mars up there with the moon too, but haven't been able to get them together, darn it!
Someday, perhaps...

(149,712 posts)After all, our eyes help us see the world and they bring memories.
And sometimes I think that the photos I see in my memories are more vivid than the ones in my computer...
