(19,459 posts)I especially like the expression on #3.
Good on you for fostering animals! We are going to Harpers Ferry, WV, in July and will be staying with someone who fosters and shelters rescues. All of our pets over the years have been rescues.

(19,459 posts)Our current two rescues (a chihuahua and a chorkie) can be absolute pills, but I dont think I could part with them.
I suspect my wife could...

(22,380 posts)I don't know about cats, but these make me a bit weak. If a certain DU person reads this (she wants me to get a cat) I will be subtly encouraged again.
I'm seriously loving these little guys.

(6,558 posts)how many of them are you going to keep? I've done fostering for young kittens in the past, and I presently have 2 five year old cats that I couldn't bear to bring myself to put up for adoption. They are the wind beneath my wings. I don't know what I would do without them. They are also the first littermates that I have kept and I am constantly amazed at their closeness to each other and to me. The antics they display daily bring joy to my life. If you haven't had kittens/cats that are littermates, you are missing out on special bonds. At 5 years of age, I am still Mom, and they are still my babies.

(18,668 posts)I have nine of my own now and that is enough.
I do know exactly what you mean about how wonderful they are and mine are also my joy.
I want to give someone else the joy! (Believable? LOL!)

(6,558 posts)I lived on a farm for 4 years. No cats when I got there, but the landlord really wanted cats. When I left he had 9 adult cats and 20 kittens. He was giving all his neighbors cats. I do my work well - LOL.
