Hi DU members,
As I have announced before, my photography will be featured in an exhibit titled "The World through the Lens" at the Aisling Group Fine Art gallery off of Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C. The opening reception is on Sunday, February 4 and is by invitation only. 40% of the proceeds of sales go to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), by my choice. That portion is tax deductible for the buyer.
If you'd like to be on the invitation list, please leave me your snail mail address in a DU message to me. The invitations go out by snail mail only.
There will be about 26 20"x30" canvass prints in with a price of $500 each, and some smaller, less expensive pieces, as well as a $100 artist proof on canvas. Purchasing is not required when attending! There will be free wine and beer.
Topics of the photos are landscapes (quite a few from Africa), cityscapes and architecture (including the Acropolis in Greece), and wildlife (African safaris, including baboons, Wlidebeests, and Leopards).
The Aisling Group Fine Art Gallery is non-profit, and run by liberals. One of the organizers of the gallery was the chief of staff for Tommy Wells. The split is as follows: 50% to the artist, 10% to the gallery, and 40% to a charity of the artist's choice (hence the SPLC portion).
Let me know if you wish to receive an invitation!
