(4,516 posts)I use to work at a company on Torrey Pines. My office window overlooked the coast.
The fog would roll in about 4:00 PM this time of year.

(7,394 posts)I lived in La Jolla in my youth, up off of La Jolla Scenic Drive, before all of the canyons were full of houses. It was a paradise for a kid. I still remember a recurring dream I would have. I'd start running down the hill our street was on and then take off flying all through the canyons.
My best friend from those days is still one of my best friends. Whenever we get together, it's as if we're still kids, up to all kinds of mischief.

(31,395 posts)Had an inter district transfer from San Dieguito in Encinitas as we lived in Rancho Santa Fe. My mom cooked it up with the girls vice principal at LJHS. They had taught together during the Depression in the SanJoaquin Valley.
We used the pool at Torrey Pines for the swimming and diving teams.

(19,459 posts)Were down here with our daughters for Thanksgiving at the elder daughters place in Carmel Valley.
Our eldest and son-in-law lived up on La Jolla Scenic Drive South for a couple of years before they bought this place. Beautiful area, with a killer view out to the ocean. It must have been great to grow up there.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, trusty elf!

Happy Thanksgiving!
