This isn't one of those times.
Flossy eating a fly. She ate three while I had my coffee. Look at her little teeth!
A few birds.
Blue Jay.
An immature male Red Cardinal in a transitional phase. He'll turn full red later on. He looks a little rough doesn't he?
A female
Tufted Titmouse - a juvenile. This bird will eventually (come spring) leave its parents and establish its own territory.
An Indigo Bunting I shot through the window. I've been studying his habits and now I know when to go out and try for a shot. I will have to hide myself though. This bird is the reason for the table full of bird seed. I'm trying to entice him. Tomorrow, this bird is mine. (insert evil laugh here)
I pulled up my Zinnias, so they'll be less bugs to shoot. I know that's a relief. lol
I'm getting the ground ready to plant Poppies and Texas Bluebonnets for next spring. I'll plant in early fall. So next year...

(90,776 posts)I gave up fighting the bend of their wind induced growth.
However, I still have plenty of other flowers for the bugs!
The Zinnias were their favorite though.

These are so great a tale. I'm very impressed with the blue bunting, and your luring him with the food. I have all but given up feeding the birds, because I saw a rat. In daylight. More than once. I'm very bummed out by that.
So instead of trying to photograph I read up on how to keep the squirrels out who scatter so much birdseed on the ground to have attracted a rat(s).
I not only enjoy your photos, I very much enjoy your whimsy and your humor.

Rats! YIKES!
You need an owl.
Owls all over here, so few mice or rats. Got Nutria though.
Thanks, Mira!
