ON EDIT...This dam is old and concrete. I am wondering how it would hold up in a big earthquake.

Despite feeling a bit of vertigo (it's a lifelong problem), those are great images. If you ever do a video, warn me, please. I'll watch it anyway! LOL

Lake Hodges Dam is a multiple-arch dam that sits on the San Dieguito River. It was commissioned by the Volcan Water Company and designed by John S. Eastwood. It was completed in 1918, and later purchased by the city of San Diego.

Have you crossed the pedestrian/bicycle bridge?
A separate pedestrian/bicycle bridge located immediately to the west of the I-15 span opened to the public on May 15, 2009.[1] It is of a stress-ribbon design, the longest of its type in the world, and only the sixth to have been built in the US. This design was chosen for having the least impact on environmentally sensitive habitats in the construction area. This span is officially named the David Kreitzer Lake Hodges Bicycle Pedestrian Bridge, after a retired planning commissioner.

I've been all over that lake including that relatively new walk bridge.

I lived near there when I was in high school from 1965-69. Used to drive by Lake Hodges on the way to Escondido where one of my nephews
now lives with his wife and two sons!
Glad I could show you the area again.
