Hydrangea in HDRDo the whites in this image have an amber tone? I'm working with one laptop for image processing, and another for posting. On one laptop the flower looks very white, on the other it has a decidedly amber tone. Which do you see?
EDIT: Looks like my setting for the grayscale on the ASUS machine was off. Thanks for your responses.

(149,641 posts)It is lovely!
It looks 3-dimensional.
You did a wonderful bit of work, my dear Adsos Letter!

(19,459 posts)This is one of those times that I wish I could see it on other screens. One of the laptops must be off in the display adjustments.

(19,459 posts)I suspect it is showing a bit more yellow/orange than I wanted. Looks like the ASUS reads more yellow/orange than the HP.
Thanks for the feedback.

(15,805 posts)midtones and shadows toward the center are unaffected. I use those types of filters in photoshop, so I suppose most photo editing software can apply similar tweaks. Color management for your screen and printer will drive you crazy, good luck!

(19,459 posts)It should be a pretty clean white across most of the flower, with some slight color at the edges. Looks like I still haven't got it right. Do you think sending it to Costco for a print would give me an accurate base line?

(15,805 posts)a known problem with a yellow screen tint and any possible solution?
If that isn't available, I'd probably work on some very modest adjustments to my monitor, but that might be limited with a laptop and I don't know if these will work for you.
In Windows 10:
Use Cortana/search to locate the Color Management presets.
I select the "sRGB color space profile" as that looks best to my eye, but there are others offered that may work better for you.
If you have video card driver software (like NVIDEA), there might be other settings that can be adjusted or need to be recalibrated, and sometimes its as simple as just a cleaner gamma correction.
Like I said, color is a big headache.
Adsos Letter
(19,459 posts)I did re-adjust the gamma setting. I'll try googling info on the laptop. I suppose I could try taking a photo with my I-phone, then comparing that with my laptop's image display....
