Yesterday I gathered my son and grandson, both graduates of UNCSA - North Carolina School of the Arts - and we went to visit the brand new library they built at what is the highest spot in the city.At night it is a hugely beautifully lit beacon in the sky, and it's in walking distance from my house.
It was not meant as a photo taking visit, but I did have my camera.
I learned that anyone can get a library card there, and among the wonderful artwork are many areas where one can sit in the streaming light and read. The last photo is at a seating area where I plan to go as a new destination, take a book, get into it, and away from everything else

(149,702 posts)Libraries have long been refuges from the madness, and you've got a grand one right next door!
I hope it will provide you with the sanctuary you need while our world goes mad.

What did the color version of #2 look like?

(19,459 posts)#1 and #4 are my favorites, but they're all nice. It feels like I'm standing under those overhangs in #1. And #4 just feels good to me. I especially like the colors, and their distribution.
