(19,459 posts)I've had some down time over the last week or so, and I've been using it to get some photography in. Heading out in a bit to see what else I can find. We're supposed to get a significant amount of rain over the next few days. Hope you guys get some down your way.

(149,641 posts)We are having some lovely cool days, though, and I like that!
Good luck on finding things to photograph! I'll bet you have success ...

(19,459 posts)I've been out trying to get the hang of this 17-55mm lens. I really like the way it renders color, and with practically zero chromatic aberration on most shots (as far as I can tell).

(60,074 posts)I reattached my old Yashinon DX 50mm 1.7, and I'm loving it. I just got back from a walk at Henry Clay's estate. It was nice except for the time I walked under a black walnut tree. Starlings were roosting, and were roused by me walking under the tree. They shook loose a dozen or so walnuts. they crashed all around me, but none hit me.

(31,395 posts)I particularly like the line of pelicans (?) in the 3rd one outlined by the line of clouds that seems as though they are coming in waves.
Really nice! Thanks for sharing them.
Hope you don't get slammed with the storm that's predicted.

(19,459 posts)We do get Brown Pelicans but I think these are Great Cormorants. Really looking forward to storm, fire in fireplace, and glass of wine.
Hope you guys recover quickly from the hurricane.

(3,608 posts)We drove through that area last week, on our way home from Monterey...we stopped at the beach in Pescadero and I took some pics but I haven't gone through them yet. I love the San Mateo coast!

(19,459 posts)We love it over there. One of my daughters lives in Los Gatos, and occasionally we will drive over to Half Moon Bay, then to Santa Cruz, and then over the mountain to Los Gatos. Getting to Pescadero is about a 90 minute drive for us; if traffic is heavy on 92 it can take a lot longer, so we save that route for low traffic times.
Enjoy the rain, and post some of your photos!
