Clothing advice for Nevada desert in mid-October

Hey y'all. I'm heading to Nevada in mid-October for a photo workshop (shooting ghost towns) and there will be a couple of night photography shoots and early morning sunrise shoots too. I'm from the east coast and "cool" weather varies.

Any advice on jacket weight at night would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!

Good thermal hat and gloves also advisable.

And (sorry, I'm a National Park geek) - be sure to check out Great Basin if you're in that neck of the woods. It's pretty close to the Utah state line, about 2/3 of the way up the state. Awesome place and very little visitation. They don't even charge admission.

I wasn't aware it got that chilly in the desert that soon in the year.

Thanks, too, for the Great Basin trip. I won't be out there long enough to visit unfortunately.

Photography in the Nude is all the rage now but some places would be better met by wearing clothes.

Have fun. Looking forward to your photos.

warm to hot midday, cold at night
dry climate = cold nights
layers is the way to go, some kind of scarf and gloves if active at night especially if breezy
