"a photographic interpretation of music/song"

...either a literal interpretation of the lyrics or an emotional interpretation of the music itself...

I will start a submissions post next Tuesday (20th) and open the contest to voting on the 28th (may be flexible as we are late)

**hint: I would love someone to use "Feeling Groovy" I initially thought all the photos should be based on that one song but some thought it would be too limiting???

I haven't been out with my camera because work and my father have become so time consuming and emotionally exhausting, but with the thought of music and photography together I got excited and would love if others had the same motivation

I did get some comments about it being not narrowed enough in subject but people have such a varied interest in music and I just want to see what comes through in a photograph when music is the inspiration

my examples are poor because I just quickly leafed through my stuff and added a song instead of the other way around... I am hoping our photographers will get creative... I would love to add an audio of the music with each photograph but don't know if I can manage that??



**note... I am working my way up the East coast, in Georgia right now, South Carolina in a week and half, them North Carolina, but I have no idea what part of NC yet

and I fly home every week or two to make sure my dad is ok, so that cuts into my time

should you be near.
My house has not changed.
I would love to see you, if only for a short time, and I would do the traveling to you if called. I miss catching up with you.
And about the contest, it should be easy. Don't concern yourself - in my opinion - with an audio link, unless you ask the person who enters a photo provides it, and then all of us would have to do that. In my opinon = there are two outcomes, one is that our contests which are not exactly attracting the attention they used to will be energized, the other is that the entries will fall lower because of the additional energy needed to do it.

8. I have mine!

Happy to say the photo presented itself this weekend while we were in New Haven on a quick trip to see our son playing percussion on stage
at Yale Cab. Title of the show? Styx Songs. Totally cool and creative piece put together by a 2nd year (master's program) Director, using poetry/writings
of T.S. Eliot, Shakespeare, Dylan Thomas and others.

So there's another possible contest theme sometime--Photos inspired by the written word!

I will start a submissions thread this evening... I am busy traveling, but that is my life... I move every 2 weeks so it is nothing new... I have seen enough hotels and airports to satisfy a lifetime, but I have also been privy to much I otherwise wouldn't... come to think of it I will start that post now because I must get on a plane this afternoon

mostly I wanted to give photographers a chance to get started but it is late and we must proceed
