Trinidad beach, northern California.

I went to the beach this evening and played around with a 10 stop neutral density filter. The light was really crappy-- thick gray overcast so flat light and solid gray skies, all the way to the horizon-- so I didn't stay long.


Nikon D7200 at ISO 100, Tokina 12-28 f/4, 13mm, f/16, 34s, 10 stop ND. Lightroom, Photoshop, Nik.

These are subtle and understated, and lovely.

Even cloudy days give us opportunities to do things we might not have thought of otherwise...

Given the fog and lack of sun, yet still the land is nice and sharp, contrasting micely with the smoky water.
