L.A. to Seattle

Hi photogs!

Just thought I'd stop by to share a couple of shots. We rode Amtrak's Coast Starlight from L.A. to Seattle. Took LOTS of shots. Here's my favorite from somewhere in Oregon. My husband had been telling me there were wildflowers so I made him move from his seat and along came this vista!

And this shot is just for Solly Mack. I think it's Mt. Shasta PLUS a power line.

If you are ever in Seattle, do go to the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum. I thought I'd died and gone to museum heaven. Wow. They let people take photographs! The lighting is exquisite on all the installations. For the first time since I've been playing with photography I'm actually thinking about enlarging some shots, framing them, and hanging them in our living room. This shot is one
of the panels in the Persian Ceiling

WOW!

Well, to say these are amazing is to state the obvious.

You should certainly enlarge, frame and hang some of these.

Thanks for sharing!

which I didn't know. There is a photo of it--and info about it--right as you enter the exhibit. Apparently the sun--and the boat(s) were there, too.

The sun is now in the Garden here.

And the boats are inside the museum.

I don't know if anything is left there as a permanent installation. You might call the Salk Institute to ask them.

So glad you are able to enjoy and find the beauty. You shot dedicated to Solly Mack needs to be in the hands of trusty elf for a few minutes, and that powerline is gone. The Chihuly photo is spectacular. I have been fortunate to see his exhibit in the Phoenix Botanical Gardens. My photos from there are in the lost batch. But honestly, of all of them, and others I have seen, this one of yours is utterly more perfect than those.
It is worthy of whatever you want to invest money in doing with it. I'm speechless.
Also ran across Chihuly's work in other places, such as NOLA. One sees it and knows it's the real thing.
Back to you photo, it solidly rocks

I know there is software that will do that, but I haven't gotten to that level with my skills. What did you use?

I used the "patch" tool in photoshop. Not much skill involved, actually. Photoshop does it for you.

Glad to be of service!

I did a whole album of Chihuly photos that I posted on fb. It's the lighting. Spectacular. The lighting is integral to the installation and just as important as the glass, which is what makes it wonderful.
